Motion Picture Market

Windense is the de facto worldwide standard for quality control of motion picture films. Now, Windense M9 provides motion picture labs with the ability to use commercial film scanners to replace densitometers for film quality control. This is particularly useful with the discontinuance of Model 310 densitometers.

Windense for Motion Picture M9 Updated - January 2010

We have recently uploaded our Version M9 of our motion picture software. Windense M9 has all the features you have always loved about Windense. It still work with a traditional densitometer but now has be optimized for use with a photo scanner instead of a densitometer. With Windense M9 and a scanner, you operate Windense as you would with a densitometer to read motion picture negative & positive control strips and LADs. Instead of using you densitometer, you just indicate the area to be scanned and press the scan button.

And with a scanner for QC input, you can . . .

You get multi-step calibration to provide much greater inter-instrument agreement
You can do conventional LADS using very large or very small areas

Our Company

Windense is a privately held company with headquarters in Glasgow, Scotland and offices in the United States. We serve the Photo, Motion Picture and Healthcare markets worldwide primarily under our Windense and Scandense branded software although our products are still very common in the marketplace under the brands of others, most notably Kodak.

Regardless of geography and market, our software can be categorized as single site or multi site. Single site software makes the routine job of the quality control technician more efficient, i.e. easier, faster, fewer mistakes and with less training. Multi site software makes it easier for a central support operation or manager to support or oversee a network of individual geographic locations by turning QC data into actionable information.
