Windense for Motion Picture Version M9 - Now Available & Recently Updated!

Quality control is absolutely critical to the motion picture laboratory.  Windense software has been used for the past twenty years and become the industry-standard quality control program.  It is extensively sold and used worldwide under our brand and also the brands of some of our partners, notably Kodak.  Customers of Windense-branded software include Technicolor, Kodak, Deluxe, Kodak Cinelabs, Chilefilms and others.

Windense continues its leadership role in quality control into the the future.  With Windense Scanning Modules motion picture quality control can now be done with anEpson Photo Scanner instead of a densitometer.  Great timing since the industry-standard X-Rite 310Ts are effectively no longer available, new or used!

But there is much more potential than merely using scanners as replacements for traditional densitometers!  Using a scanner to scan multiple film frames presents many new possibilities, e.g. tracking sound, tracking advanced LADs, single frame control strips, image & sound position, resolution, frame uniformity and more.

Windense M9

Quality control is absolutely essential in the motion picture industry. For years, Windense Motion Picture software has been filling the needs of the lab and has become the industry standard. Windense rapidly and automatically reads data from the X-Rite 310Ts and automatic film drives, and analyzes, stores & displays quality control data. It's power and flexibility has made Windense software the undisputed industry leader.

And now Windense can use either an Epson Photo Scanner or a traditional densitometer to do your QC.  See the tab on Scanning Modules on this web page.

Windense & Scandense to Enable Scanners

This is the age of the digital densitometer - Windense and Scandense!

Following our success in the amateur and professional photo markets using scanners for QCand the demise of the X-Rite Model 310T, we are delighted to announce the introduction of Windense M9 Scandense.

Scandense is a revolutionary new product that allow scanners to replace densitometers for quality control (and more). With Windense M9, using a scanner is remarkably similar to using a densitometer from the perspective of the user.  The procedure is exactly the same until it's time to take a reading.  In the case of a densitometer, you next make your readings. In the case of a scanner, the Epson scanner driver opens, you scan the film and the data goes into Windense just as with a densitometer.

You can also use a radically new and effective user interface to make readings and to display your quality information and enhance the ability to network data to a central support/management location.
